See shows of every genre at this historic venue, which boasts vaulted ceilings, grand chandeliers and a famous “floating” dance floor. Downstairs, Lola’s Room hosts smaller shows while Ringlers Pub serves McMenamins ales and pub fare.
The Crystal Ballroom in downtown Portland is a marvel: vaulted ceilings, grand chandeliers, giant wallscapes and a famous “floating” dance floor you truly have to experience firsthand—as well as a listing on the National Register of Historic Places. In its 100-year history, this live music venue has seen police raids, silent screen idols, beat poets, psychedelic light shows, narrow escapes from fire and demolition and visits from the likes of Tina Turner and the Grateful Dead. Today, it is a vital, thriving McMenamins-owned and -operated live music palace that hosts every genre of performer, from rock ‘n’ roll and country to hip-hop and big band swing. Downstairs, the more intimate Lola’s Room hosts smaller shows, and Ringlers pours McMenamins ales and serves up pub fare.
