Literary Arts is thrilled to be participating in the 12th Anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day. Kick off the day with Spanish Story Time from the wonderful storytellers at Adventures in Spanish. The rest of the day will include free drinks and snacks, fun activities with more neighborhood friends, giveaways, freebies, books, and surprises.

Literary Arts is one among many amazing Central Eastside indie bookstores and recommends you make a day of it by visiting their friends at Mother Foucault’s, Postcard (in Cargo), Propeller (in Urbanite), and Up Up Books. Save your receipts from bookstore stops for you on this day — Literary Arts is offering 10% off for shoppers who bring a day-of receipt from another indie.

Independent Bookstore Day (Indie Bookstore Day, or “IBD”) was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the Independent bookstore community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year there are over 1,200 stores participating across the country.

Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
