The PSU Steinway Piano Series welcomes the incomparable HieYon Choi for an unforgettable concert of Reflection — a deeply personal program tracing the pivotal moments of her artistic journey across Korea, Germany, and the international stage. A pianist of profound depth and insight, Choi carries forward the legacy of the legendary György Sebök, blending technical brilliance with a storytelling sensibility that captivates audiences worldwide.

Her program of music by Beethoven and Ravel culminates in Beethoven’s Op. 111, a work she describes as his ultimate “Testament,” embodying her lifelong exploration of his music.

This event is part of the PSU Steinway Series, which brings internationally recognized performers and educators to Portland for a weekend of public recitals and master classes each year. Acting as a bridge between world-class stages and the college classroom, the series elevates awareness for PSU’s outstanding music program while providing students and concertgoers with access to a broad spectrum of the highest-level professional pianists performing today.

HieYon Choi will give a master class for PSU piano students as part of the PSU Steinway Piano Series on May 3. Free and open to the public.
