The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Celebrate the completion and release of the recording of early, unpublished Fanny Hensel Lieder. This profoundly beautiful repertoire hasn't been recorded or published and has mostly not been performed for close to 200 years.

Fanny Hensel, the wildly talented sister of Felix Mendelssohn, was one of the most voluminous and important composers of German Lieder of the entire 19th century. The classical music world is still largely unaware of over half of these wonderful pieces. Come and help to rectify that situation. Presenting selections from this repertoire and other marvelous works by Fanny Hensel, and also offering a bit of insight into the process behind the project.

The remarkable cellist Hamilton Cheifetz will join this event, as well as pianist Chuck Dillard, and the other members of the PSU vocal community. Please come and support underrepresented music, and feast your ears on these neglected scores.

CDs will be available for purchase at the concert.
