Join a dynamic evening, presented in partnership with Cascade Festival Of African Films, which celebrates the spirit of African cinema with the screening of On Becoming a Guinea Fowl, a poignant and visually stunning film exploring identity, transformation, and cultural narratives.
Before the screening, experience a heartfelt festival celebration highlighting CFAF’s 35-year legacy of showcasing African cinema in Portland and the festival’s enduring mission and take part in interactive activities with Portland-based portrait photographer and creator of Polaroids Paiz (Paisley Lee). After the film, stay for a 30-minute conversation with cultural experts and community leaders, offering insights into the film’s themes with a Q&A session for audience participation.
