If you think mandolin orchestras play the same-old-same-old, the Oregon Mandolin Orchestra’s upcoming concert will make you sit up straight.

The OMO is inviting you to join a mid-winter celebration of modern music by contemporary composers from around the world — including a world premiere. The concert will mark the world premiere of a composition entitled “Dance of the Rain,” which the OMO commissioned bassoonist/composer Nicole Buetti of Vancouver, Wash., to write.
