Molly Mendoza

Through their work, they explore the complex emotions of interpersonal relationships and self-love, focusing on layered visual storytelling, mark-making, and color. They write stories, paint murals, teach students, and draw. Molly has worked for clients such as APWOT, Lock-On Magazine, and The Marshall Project — made comics with Bulgilhan Press, Oni, Nobrow, and Shortbox Comics — and has illustrated picture books for Scholastic, Chronicle Books, and Beach Lane Books. They have been honored with an Eisner nomination for their color work on their graphic novel Skip, Ignatz winning alongside fellow artists and writers in the Shades of Fear Anthology, and has received a Caldecott Honor for their illustration work on Jovita Wore Pants written by Aida Salazar.
