Fall Mushroom Discovery Walk
The following description was submitted by the event organizer.
Discover the fascinating and fun world of Fall mushrooms in the Pacific Northwest. As the rains have returned to the Northwest, the mushrooms have popped-up everywhere, and Hoyt Arboretum is a great place to see them. Observe and explore the species commonly found at Hoyt Arboretum and throughout Portland.
- 11/9 Instructor: Leah Bendlin (@leah_mycelia) is a Portland-based mushroom and community science enthusiast. She is an expert taxonomist and delights in teaching others. She regularly leads mushroom ID classes and walks through various Pacific Northwest organizations. She has also volunteered as a teacher, identifier, and Oregon Mycological Society board member.
- 11/16Instructor: Greg Hill is a fungiphile who has been teaching basic mushroom identification and leading mushroom walks for over 15 years. He is a Visitor Information Specialist with Hoyt Arboretum friends.
This is a chance for looking at mushrooms, as foraging is not permitted in Portland Parks
Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.
