The following description was submitted by the event organizer.

Revel in the joy of the holiday season with Trinity Music as they present a magical evening of choral music and seasonal carols — including the world premiere of This Holy Hour: A Sequence of Carols for Christmas by internationally renowned composer Dr. Margaret Burk. This ten-movement work for harp and chorus seamlessly weaves together traditional carols and settings of original poetry, including a new carol by acclaimed poet and lyricist Charles Anthony Silvestri, whose previous collaborations include such celebrated artists and ensembles as Eric Whitacre, Houston Grand Opera, the King’s Singers, and Ola Gjeilo.

Joined by harpist Kate Petak and percussionist Will Reno, members of the Trinity Choir, Cathedral Schola, and Trinity Choir School will offer traditional holiday favorites by Sir David Willcocks, Michael Praetorius, and Harold Darke, in addition to stunning music by living composers Rosephanye Powell, Will Todd, Michael Engelhardt, and Cecilia McDowall. As a special treat, attendees will have a chance to sing along with a few favorite Christmas carols.

The concert will be followed by Trinity’s much-loved Wassail Party, a holiday tradition that gives concertgoers a chance to gather with friends, meet new ones, and talk with the performers while enjoying holiday treats and hot Wassail. (Included in ticket purchase.)

Celebrate the magic of the season with this program of joyful and beautiful music, sure to usher in the Christmas spirit with warmth and joy.
