William Surly & The Barroom Gospel Band

William Surly is a singer/songwriter and founder of The Barroom Gospel Band, who saddles his proverbial horse in Portland, Oregon, and is no stranger to the western cocktail. Within the music, The Barroom Gospel Band blends classic country with equal parts honky tonk, folk, soul, rock and a whole lot of tequila. Inspired by storytellers the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson, and rejuvenated by the modern sounds of Sturgill Simpson and Whitey Morgan And The 78's, Surly pays homage to the ones who came before him, singing songs for those best suited for a bar stool and a long-running tab.
